Time is just flying right by. Here it is the last Tuesday in April, which makes this the last tune I'll add to my occasional series Creepier than Intended for awhile. And, in this exact circumstance, I am full on blaming Chris Hansen and that marathon of "To Catch a Predator" that was on the other day. But when I recently heard this classic Carole King penned tune, I felt like we were inside the mind of the creep trying to keep himself from acting on his feelings ... and bonus creepy points are to be given for finding a 50+ year old Donny Osmond singing the lyrics ... and bonus bonus creepy points for the duet he did in this youtube video with his child self! These words and this song will never be the same again:
"Go away, little girl. Go away, little girl. I'm not supposed to be alone with you. I know that your lips are sweet, but our lips must never meet. When you are near me like this, you're much too hard to resist. So, go away, little girl. Call it a day, little girl. Oh, please, go away, little girl, before I beg you to stay. Go away."
EXTRA CREEPY POINTS SINGING IT AS HIS AGE IN A DUET WITH HIS YOUNGER SELF!:

Random Tune for Tuesday 4/17/12
If it is Tuesday and it is April 2012 (and, by the way, at the time of this posting ... it is both of those things ...), then it is time for me to pick another tune that I think is "creepier than intended". And, with Jimmy Fallon involved, it may be that this one is "creepier as intended". I first referenced it back on 9/27/11 when I had picked a different tune from Pearl Jam (it's the only fan club to which I belong in my middle age -- the annual fee is worth it for the holiday song on vinyl and the great seats when they come to town in concert) ... and if you haven't seen Eddie Vedder join said Fallon to interpret this protest song about the BP oil spill and the subsequent tar balls that floated to shore in the Gulf ... then you just might not get it. But, creepy or not, it sure is damn catchy (as these boys who added their version to the youtube can surely attest). I often find myself breaking into this tune at inappropriate times:
DON'T SWIM IN THE OCEAN ... OR YOU'LL GET BALLS IN YOUR MOUTH:

Random Tune for Tuesday 4/10/12
Here's the second in my series of tunes on Tuesday in the month of April (Creepier than Intended) ... and I have to admit that it's not so much this version of the song itself that's creepy (it's more ... unexpected, I would say), but it's creepy in how I came to learn of it. And, sadly, I'm not 100% sure of that ... I only know that I heard it as it played out over the end credits of one of the TV shows with which I am enamored. And I distinctly remember that I was staring dumbfounded at the screen with a silly grin on my face over how good the ending of was. Which means it was probably over the end credits of True Blood (can't wait until it starts up again this summer!) or American Horror Story (can't wait to see what new roles last year's actors will play!) or The Walking Dead (spoiler alert -- we're all infected!) ...

Random Tune for Tuesday 4/3/12
[I haven't done an occasional series in a while, so the tunes I pick for Tuesdays in the month of April will all be united by a concept -- they'll be creepier than possibly they were intended to be ...]
Kicking off this new occasional series is this tune, that upon adult reflection, seems to be not so cutesy and actually rather threatening with a Drew Peterson-esque vibe, as in "you will never escape me and my friends who will always be watching you, you cheating whore". Or, as provided a bit more artfully ...
"And a thousand eyes can't help but see if you are true to me ... So remember when you tell those little white lies ... That the night has a thousand eyes ... One of these days you're gonna be sorry ..."
Creepy!
