I don't mean to go off on a rant here, but ...
... or maybe it is more like "gone but not forgotten" (my usual Monday shtick) ...
... but whichever, can I just say how disappointed I was to get through a whole season of Food Network Star without a single glimpse of Bob and Susie at the judges' table.
I've posted *almost* every summer (two examples appear in the links below) about how I wish they would follow *me* around and give me a critique at the end of my day to help me be a better contestant in the reality show known as life because they had just the right mixture of warmth and care and concern and discipline and intelligence as they provided feedback in years/seasons past.
I kept on waiting, episode after episode, for them to pop up and weigh in ... and it never happened. I'm sure that if they had been asked to contribute, the person who came in third would have won and gotten his (or her) own show (this is a spoiler free zone ... well, except for the spoiler that there was neither Bob nor Susie to be seen this year), as his (or her) personality is one I'd watch over and over again.
Note: because I was so perturbed at this perceived sleight to the viewers, I did a little googling (aka modern day private investigation) and it turns out Bob Tuschman was let go from the network earlier this year (I didn't find anything about Susie). So, after learning this fact, I'd like to officially extend that offer from earlier -- Bob (and Susie too) is welcome to contact me to set up regular judging sessions. I can't afford to pay them, but I'll gladly be client zero if they want to start up a "private judges' table" type of business.
WELL THAT EXPLAINS THAT:
