Gone but not forgotten: the bar with the train game.
I'm no longer the king of bar crawls (a title I think I might have held when I lived in Chicago and I was in my thirties). I mean don't get my wrong ... I still enjoy an occasional evening hopping from one bar to the next until the last one I'm in closes ... it's just that now it takes me TWO days to recover ... and I'd rather spend the money on my mulch addiction.
All that said, it's still sad to see that one of the bars that was in the regular rotation here in the FTL closed its doors yesterday. It was next to the train tracks, and so every time a train passed, the bartender would pick a number out of a hat and the patrons would go around one by one until it was guessed ... and the winner would get a toy wooden train to hold onto until turning it back in for a free drink.
Location where we talked the staff into putting our "masturbating mosquito" drinks (long story) on the monthly special and that may or may not have been what I pictured every so often in my ongoing short story I'm telling one status update at a time over on the Facebook ... you will be missed.
