L V C || C L Memory 67

In 67 days, I'll be back on campus at my alma-mater at an extra special homecoming as Lebanon Valley College continues celebrating its 150th birthday.  In honor of that countdown, here's memory #67:  the last time I drank Southern Comfort (ever).

I can't possibly wrap up 1991 in this countdown without telling the tale of the night before Thanksgiving break that semester, when I drank enough Southern Comfort to get to the point where I went running up and down the hall of Mary Green first floor, alternating my speech between English and "drunk German" (that's regular German with looser vocab and grammar rules).

The finale of the evening ... me climbing on the glass panels across from the front desk (and half a floor up from ground level because of the way the staircase was when you entered the building), announcing that "now I'm going to fly like in the Reebok commercials" in both English and "drunk German".  Back then, there weren't such things as snapchats or social medias, so there's no proof that it happened ... except for the testimony of my long term roomie Jon M.

As for why it was the *last* time I drank Southern Comfort ... I, unfortunately, very vividly recall the day after, as Jon and his parents were leaving for Shamokin, and I was on death's door, emptying my body of bile every twenty minutes like clockwork.  But hey -- the night before -- I was at the top of my game!
