And so on ... and so on ... assuming, that is, that there are more named storms than are being forecast (which is a statement that fails to take into account that tropical storms are also named). Not being called out in a Santa Claus-esque manner? Alex and Bonnie -- who have already come and gone.
As I look over this year's list, I'm hoping that we make it all the way to W so we can make Hurricane Walter jokes when he comes to visit again ... but I guess I'm hoping that we get there without a lot of death and destruction, since hoping for a W means hoping for a lot of stormy weather in the months ahead.
This will be the third year living in what used to be a big danger zone (not since 2005 has this town been hit) ... so we'll see if/which one of these guys and gals turns out to be my first!
