Back to the (every other week) discarded cassettes series ...
... and this week, it's the mid-nineties compilation album of 'Rhythm, Country and Blues' going in the trash (well, *on top* of the trash can this week, because I forgot and took out the trash last night before snapping the photo).
And, in case you forgot the construct, this image isn't because I'm against musical integration ... but it's because I also have the CD and so I'm finally clearing out some duplicates from the music library at ye olde (new) homestead.
It seems only appropriate that the tune featured for today is the reason that this selection was in my collection in the first place ... because anything to which Reba McEntire lends her talents is worth owning. For this particular item, she sang a duet with Natalie Cole on the classic blues ballad from the forties: 'Since I Fell For You' ... just one of many unique crossover combinations on this album (for instance, I *almost* chose the Little Richard/Tanya Tucker tune on it).
In the end, though, it was the wails and cries of McEntire and Cole that called out to me, and are provided in the video at the link below ...
