Random Thought for Thursday 4/23/15

The votes are in!

Well, the first round of votes anyway.

If you haven't been following along, there is an initiative underway to bump Andrew Jackson off of the $20 bill (he's been targeted because of his not-so-nice-to-the-natives activity of his presidency) by the time 2020 rolls around (which is, in turn, the 100th anniversary of the women folk being allowed to vote).  All last month (which was Women's History Month, in case you were out of that loop as well), the candidates were whittled down ... and now it looks like the final four are Eleanor Roosevelt, Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, and Cherokee Nation Chief Wilma Mankiller.

Eleanor and her proximity to the presidency would probably get *my* vote to join Susan B Anthony, Sacajawea and Helen Keller (the other three females to appear on money) ... but there's something downright anti-old-boys-club if it were Ms. Mankiller that made it to the bill.  Just sayin' ...
