Random Scandal Sheet for Sunday 1/25/15

What southern Florida is talking about this week:

The fact that the county in which I live is participating in the nationwide BIG READ, which in turn means that me and anyone local that is joining in has until Feb 28 to read (or re-read) the classic Harper Lee novel 'To Kill a Mockingbird'.

It's been many a year since I first read it (mandatory reading in some grade of English in junior high or high school), but luckily I have a copy in the classics section of my personal library (all real books in this house ... none of that e-reader nonsense).

Speaking of "luckily", since I'm between jobs, I'll have an easy time finding the time to determine whether the book is timeless (or not ... see link below [or to follow, if you're reading this on the Facebook]).  I'm suspecting that I'll have new insight now that we allegedly live in "post-racial" America.

WELL THE MOVIE IS A TIMELESS CLASSIC:

EVEN IF THIS ANGRY WHITE MAN THINKS OTHERWISE ABOUT THE BOOK:
