Random Thought for Thursday 12/25/14

For the last 15 (maybe 16?) years, I've spent Christmas with my Indiana family ... but as time passes, little ones grow up and end up starting lives of their own in faraway places ... and now geography makes it impossible to gather around the table on a day like today.

The challenge this year was to find a way to honor as many traditions while also looking to make some new ones ... and having the puppies certainly helped with that.

But so did having the memories of all the Christmases past ... so even though me and mine can't be in the actual presence of those loved ones on Dec 25th 2014, we are with them if only in our dreams ... and in our hearts and minds and *definitely* in ourt memories.

Of course, that doesn't mean I can't do a trip-tych of sad songs to accompany this post ... [Although, if all goes well, the last one in the batch might not be as sad, as we *will* be home to the Chicago/Indiana area for the Fourth of July in 2015!]
