On the national news, with the potential polar vortexing of the Cold War courtesy of Crimea and the Ukraine and Comrade Putin bumping the stories of the Venezuelan protests off the air (they, in backwards looking turn, had replaced the Thai uprising, which had, of course, supplanted the Syrian slaughter) ... local media focused on the triumphant tale of one of America's five quadruple amputees who went sky diving this week.
How's that for a juxtaposition of the routine business of war against a backdrop of those who pay the highest price for it? Think about *that* for a bit, eh ... and pray for peace, people everywhere ...
