I don't mean to go off on a rave here, but ...
... everything is almost unpacked from the big move, and I'm overdue in praising the company that executed it.
It's scary out there in the interwebs when one reads reviews of these types of companies, with horror stories about broken items and belongings held hostage until surcharges are paid and unsavory characters performing the tasks.... but I saw none of that.
It was professionalism from start to finish ... from the home visit to create the estimate, to the arrangements made to get the tractor trailer outside the apartment in Wrigley, to the inventorying and loading by the young kids in Chicago, to the care placed in packing and storing and transporting everything (including the giant buffalo and broken bowling ball ... packed [and unpacked] without judgment), to the comfort that the driver provided in every interaction, to the older gentlemen in this market who did the unloading work even though one of them had stroked out a few years back ... all exemplary.
And bonus points to getting past the yelling match on load-up day when the landlord complained about the front door being propped open during one of those polar vortex moments (it could have been an issue ... but calmer heads prevailed ... and instead I just became the door man for half an hour).
Thank you, thank you, thank you ... I highly recommend this company to anyone considering this kind of move.
