Look -- part of me wants to care, but I just can't muster up the feelings because:
1.) I grew up on (and still often crave) Tastykakes, which apparently survived its brush with the Great Recession earlier this year and which I can still get from a Chitown food joint or load up on whenever I get back east.
2.) This development seems to somehow be related to our political divide (what with the unions and all) and I'm trying to uphold a no-politics moratorium for the time-being post-election.
3.) I live in Wrigleyville, which means I'm just a short-walk-a-few-blocks-toward-the-lake away from having all the Twinkies I could possibly pick up on any given late night -- wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
All that aside, unless your people can work out a miracle in mediation, golden sponge cakes with creamy filling, you will be missed (not so much by me -- but by some folks somewhere, I'm sure).
