100 Things I've Always Wanted To Say But Never Did And Now Maybe Should Since The World Might Be Ending -->
Thing 39:
File this under unsung heroes who deserve to be sung about (or should that be "about whom songs should be sung"?) ... but three cheers for Dr. Scott. My undergrad German professor at LVC recently retired, and I missed the deadline to contribute to the festivities, so, with just 39 days left before the Mayan apocalypse, I'll be sure to share in this forum how much of a role he played in so many students' lives. It wasn't just the German classes he led, but it was everything he did as faculty advisor of the theatre department back in the day (pre-Pry) when I was involved that springs to mind. He advised ... he advocated ... he counselled ... he assisted ... he acted (yep, that is him in the pics of the museum scene in the 1990 production of On The Town) ... and, of course, he taught so many of us -- both in and out of the classroom. He deserves a statue on campus for his contributions ... and may I be the first to suggest that it be a replica of the white bicycle he rode all over LVC back in the day -- a bike you could see outside of any campus building and instantly know that you had a friend you could find inside. Dr. Scott -- we sing your praises (... and wish you a belated blissful retirement)!
