What Chicago is talking about this week:
Ummm ... the same thing we were talking about two years ago.
Except two years ago, the setting was Wrigleyville after a Dave Matthews concert (this time it's an undisclosed "downtown bar") ... he who planted the fake bomb was 22 (this time he's just 18) ... and the bomb was in a trash can (this time, it was a car bomb). But other than that, it all sounds familiar. The alleged bomber expressed his desire to harm others on the internet, the FBI got involved and pretended to play along over the course of many many months to the point of supplying the fake bomb materials and then the sting ended after each individual actually "fake"-set- off the explosives.
The bottom line has to be that it's a good thing that those who would do harm did not get to do so ... but there's also plenty within these two cases that make me a little uncomfortable (i.e. I'm sure that the government covered its tracks to avoid any charges of entrapment ... but I have to wonder where those lines get drawn when the investigation's very nature is to drive the person toward action ...).
And the bottom bottom line is that the only bombs I want in my Chitown bars are the ones of the Jager variety.
DO YOU REALLY NEED A "RECIPE" FOR A JAGER BOMB?:
