Random Soapbox for Saturday 2/11/12

I don't mean to go off on a rave here, but ...

[note: I guess this is the verbal equivalent of being warned that if you make a frowny face all the time, it will stay that way -- but I'm committed to making sure that at least one of my Saturday rants each month is something positive ... and, as an aside, it looks like if the AP story is right, my Monday memorial just wrote itself (RIP Ms. Houston) ...]

... hats off and kudos and huzzah to the following quality folk (even if one is canine):

Pittsburgh native Raymond Levy -- the 4 year old who called 911 when his "nana" rolled off the couch and needed emergency services and who, when told he was a hero, nonchalantly replied that "Batman would have done the same thing" ...

Washington born Kyle Stanley -- who lost the PGA tournament two weekends ago in dramatic fashion only to come back and win one week later and who wasn't afraid to show emotion and demonstrate class in how he handled his defeat a few days before the big win ...

Chicago Ridge resident Moo-Moo, the two year old pit bull, who woke her owner at 4:30 in the morning in time to escape a house fire (and whose owner then had to run back in the house three times to rescue Moo-Moo) -- make sure you take a look at her picture to see why she is so named ...

May they inspire others to similar acts!
