I think I found the nexus of my laziness and my antiauthoritarianistic streaks.
When I search on my work laptop it always brings up Bing, and so I always type in "google.com" in the search query box and select Google from the Bing results to continue my search as I wish.
Fight the power (or teach me how to change it, one of you tech-friendly young-uns)!
