I don't mean to go off an a rave here, but ...
[it's a goal of mine in 2011 to be sure I mix it up and say something nice at least once a month]
... there's nothing better during this time of year than dimming the lights, hunkering down on the couch and watching a spooky movie. And if you haven't seen "The Creek" yet (2007 winner of the Best Horror Feature at the Illinois International Film Festival), now's your chance to watch a homegrown low-budget quality indie horror flick, filmed locally in my home county of Lebanon PA.
And to those of you in the vicinity of Jason's Woods in Central PA, you still have one more chance to actually meet the auteur Erik Soulliard this weekend on site next to the main stage. There, you can possibly take home a free poster, definitely pick up your copy of the DVD, all while finding out what's next for this production company.
[In the spirit of full disclosure, if you sit through all of the credits at the end of this film, the Troy Neidermeyer that's listed is indeed me (with just a slight typo in the spelling of the last name).]
