.) Question: With 409 on the line for JoePa and the status as only undefeated team in the Big10 at risk, why is it that we're so far into this game with what appears to be a soccer score -- this is college American football, right -- and not football as the rest of the world understands it to be, correct?
.) Commentator comment that made me groan: "I sure do like to hear the sound of pads a-poppin'" said announcer man as he listed a litany of "bang-bang contact" noises that got him excited. He stopped just short of "bones-a-crunchin' and brains-a-squishin'", before reading how you can aim for anything but the head. And coming up in the halftime show -- faith based believers vs. the lions!
.) Commentator comment that made me giggle: The story of little 11 year old Joey Paterno being told "et tu Brute" by daddy Jay when the little man asked why we don't just "choose a quarterback" already. Out of the mouths of babes, eh?
.) Stat of the day: 3 and out (and repeat ad nauseum). I guess you can tell by the score, but it's pretty much a punting contest today, sadly.
.) Final thought: It's nice to know that Mother Nature is a fan. Thanks for the white-out (and for those of you without power or dealing with this surprise Snow-o-ween back home, please do be careful) -- and even though it's 53 and briskly sunny here in Chi-town, I had to wrap myself in a blanket on the couch just watching the weather in the background!
