[It's a new month, and time for a new occasional series for each Thursday in September.]
The future is now ... as evidenced by the drive across my beloved western Pennsylvania (my time in Uniontown will hit my twenty year old Friday Flashbacks starting the middle of next year) -- where you can take US 219 from POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold and hook up with PA 281 to get to the Lady Luck Casino in the Laurel Highlands on Rt. 40.
Actually, I guess the 60 days have passed, so Altoona can have its name back again, but for this patchworks of "patches" (coal towns, for you not in the know) that only recently was still all about getting highways and bypasses and toll roads to now have casinos and corporate sponsorships, there's no turning back!
