Random Scandal Sheet for Sunday 3/6/11

What Chicago is talking about this week:

Well, it depends ... so here's a potpourri of topics ...

IF you're go-to small talk conversation starter is the weather, well then it's now official that three of the last four winters have had the most snowfall since modern record keeping.

IF you're the guy who can only talk sports due to society's rules of enforcing its gender norms, then those Blackhawks sure have been on a winning streak of late with seven wins in a row.

IF you're Irish OR have an affinity to the Irish stereotype OR are a hard core partier OR are an alcoholic seeking justification for drinking at 7am (I'm not naming names here -- but if the bottle fits, then chug it), then it's all about planning for the next two weekends of St Patrick's Day drunken bacchanalias.

IF you're familiar with family dysfunction and are lucky enough to have a ticket, then you've probably seen (or will be seeing) comedian Christopher Titus since he's in town. I became familiar with his particular style of genius when he had his eponymous show on FOX a few years ago, but he's a master of taking you to the edge and allowing you to laugh your way back. I recommend him for any who have had a less than normal life experience as we all can take a lesson from how he's used humor as a coping mechanism and to find value and perspective for the most important things in life.
