One way I managed to get through all these hours spent in the car during this recent trip was by holding special in-car concerts -- every CD that I owned for a particular set of artists.
One of those artists was Garth Brooks (even his Chris Gaines album), and listening to so many songs back to back, I remembered that one of his specialties was the tune that includes a moment where your voice catches in your throat as you're singing along.
To whit, here are the "Cry-some Five-some" of his that get me every time:
'The Storm', 'Beulah Wood', 'It's Your Song', 'When You Come Back to Me Again' ... and, the one that will resonate with anyone who has experienced loss and that makes me tear up every damn time (and that is linked below): 'The Dance'.
