One last shot from twenty years ago, when my 35 mm camera was on the fritz (hence those orange streaks) ... and I say 35 mm camera, because this was 20 years ago, when car phones were bag phones (carried around in little briefcases like in the military a few wars back) and so they didn't have cameras in them.
Over Labor Day weekend of 1996, I was seeing Chicago for the first time with my girlfriend at the time -- she had gone to school at Northwestern, and so we were walking around that campus. That also means I was seeing (and capturing) Lake Michigan for the first time (after having already been in Lake Erie once or twice before that trip).
Eventually I'd come to LIVE in Chicago, and Lake Michigan would be the go-to beach spot (for a few weeks out of the year when it wasn't frozen over). Before leaving that town for the big move to Florida, me and mine went on a drive up through Michigan, across the UP and then down through Wisconsin so that I could get two more Great Lakes under my belt. Only the elusive Ontario remains ... one day I'll get there ... one day ...
