Things I Learned Watching Karaoke.
Used in a sentence: "If I were on the 'whatever-value-the-pyramid' is currently, and the celebrity across the dais was saying words like ... 'afro-sheila', 'yeti 110' and 'tane', my excited reply would be to yell 'Things I Learned Watching Karaoke'"!
Because that's exactly what happened, courtesy of David Bowie's 'Young Americans', Chris Janson's 'Buy Me a Boat' and John Fogerty's 'Proud Mary'. (What can I say? The karaoke bar I was in attracted a *very* mixed crowd.)
Of course, all that said, I don't know if I'd necessarily recognize an afro-shiela if she went past me haulin' a yeti 110 full of tane ... but at least now I have new words to work into my lexicon in hopes that I am using them correctly.
