L V C || C L Memory 90
In 90 days, I'll be back on campus at my alma-mater at an extra special homecoming as Lebanon Valley College continues celebrating its 150th birthday. In honor of that countdown, here's memory #90: experiencing some diversity.
We've reached that point in this walk down memory lane where the past intersects with the current affairs of the present and I state how thankful I am for getting a liberal arts education ... for attending a school that placed a value on diversity of thought and that encouraged the search for the commonalities between those of us who at first might seem like "others".
In all fairness, it was still central Pennsylvania ... so there were *some* limits to our exposure. And students did have to actively seek out the enlightenment.
Happily, I did at events like this ... within the safe space that the school provided. For that, I am most grateful.
