In 124 days, I'll be back on campus at my alma-mater at an extra special homecoming as Lebanon Valley College continues celebrating its 150th birthday. In honor of that countdown, here's memory #124: being invited to consider joining the "geek" greeks.
Not that there's anything wrong with that. I didn't go to college as an athlete ... and I didn't go to college as a cool kid ... so it would have been unrealistic expectations to be invited to join those fraternities that were mostly comprised of individuals with those backgrounds. Although, had I known then what I know now, it's probably a missed opportunity to not have petitioned any of those to have a Neidermyer join them -- even if only as a mascot ('cause ... you know .. Animal House).
The group referenced on top (Alpha Psi Omega) is indeed the one which I would eventually join ... after I qualified (this note from Jan 1990 was letting me know that I was *halfway* there) and after some drama (pun FULLY intended) ... which is a memory (or more) for another day.
