L V C || C L Memory 119

In 119 days, I'll be back on campus at my alma-mater at an extra special homecoming as Lebanon Valley College continues celebrating its 150th birthday.  In honor of that countdown, here's memory #119: one of the set design marvels that was a part of the spring 1990 musical 'On The Town'.

Yes, that is the actual tip of the New York skyline that bent on to itself when it was time for Rajah Bimmy's carnival girls to perform (the part of the show where everyone held their breath in solidarity with Jef B, who wasn't allowed to breathe while performing the song).

It was just one of the set design marvels -- a "functioning" subway that spun around in sections to become apartments where the girls (Brendalyn K and Sharon B) took their sailors (Renato B, BJ C and Scott G), a taxi cab (which was an antique car from Hersheypark and the reason they were referenced yesterday) and a museum scene replete with a collapsible dinosaur (yes I said collapsible dinosaur!) and a caveman who came to life (aka Dr. Scott).

You can relive all of those moments in the complete set of photos from the show there at the base of the piece that I was given as an assistant director's gift ... but you'll have to come to my house to do so ('cause I tried to do a rudimentary video of them and it was less than perfect).
