L V C || C L Memory 112

In 112 days, I'll be back on campus at my alma-mater at an extra special homecoming as Lebanon Valley College continues celebrating its 150th birthday.  In honor of that countdown, here's memory #112: demerits vs merits!

It might possibly be THE WORST THING about the pledging experience ... especially for sensitive young people like I was at the time.  Mind you ... for perspective ... this was an honorary theatre organization I was hoping to join, so the hazing was rather minimal.  I mean it's not like we were hard core like those band freaks when it comes to that kind of thing.

But all the same, we did have to carry around a binder at all times, and within those pages, there was a section for demerits and merits that could be added at any time by any member.  Multiple little 5 point daggers that could be hurled at you repeatedly (see the left hand side of the image) could only be counteracted with multiple little 5 point kisses for your boo-boos (so to speak).

The two pages displayed represented a battle between one member and my big brother (I'm modern day Facebook friends with both, so I won't mention names to avoid restarting any kind of what could best be compared to a modern day twitter war).

Bottom line ... and spoiler alert for tomorrow's memory ... in the final tally, the merits won out.
