Your grandfather would have you believe that he was deeply disturbed BY something that happened in front of you -- a display of affection ... a showing of love.
We think it sufficient to leave it just at "your father was deeply disturbed".
Last night, at least 50 lives were lost in a display of hatred ... a showing of evil.
Let the real lesson be NOT in the bloodshed on the dance floor, BUT in the bloodshed by the hundreds waiting in line to donate -- in a show of support and community and love.
Because love will always triumph over hatred. Love will not be suppressed.
Affection WILL be displayed. Love WILL be shown.
Love is patient and kind. It knows all things. Believes all things. Hopes all things. Endures all things.
It even endures the actions of a deeply disturbed man.
You now carry with you the souls of at least 50 individuals.
Rise to the challenge. Honor their sacrifice. Dispel the fear of the "other".
It's now your obligation.
Actually, it's all of our obligations.
For the fifty. For humanity. For love's sake.
We believe. We hope. We endure.
