The bad thing about doing my current every-other-week discarded cassettes series (note that tonight is NOT another post in that construct ... because it's every OTHER week ... and I did it last week) is that I realize that I do have items ONLY on cassette that I haven't listened to in ages.
Most of them are from the late eighties/early nineties, also known as the height of the Columbia House/BMG era ... as is the song I'm choosing from an album I hadn't heard in too damn long.
The good thing about realizing this bad thing? Courtesy of the youtube, I can easily find the full album of the Divine Miss M's 'Some People's Lives' and I can zero in on this medley. If the mood is right, I can choke up at the end just like she does while I'm singing along to the classic jazz standard about change and loss: 'He Was Too Good For Me/Since You Stayed Here' ...
MORE HAPPENS, LESS MATTERS I GUESS:
