Random Scandal Sheet for Sunday 4/3/16

What southern Florida is talking about this week:

Batman.

Well, at least that's the topic of discussion at ye (new) olde homestead in southern Florida.

Luckily, there's an IMAX in town ... and so I got to see the big fight in that setting today.  Not being a regular movie-goer (I'd much rather watch a movie at home on the TV than risk an active shooter situation OR someone on their phone during the performance [admittedly, those are opposite ends of the annoyance spectrum]), I did wait a week to avoid the sold out shows, and was rewarded with a quiet and relatively peaceful viewing.  As much as a viewing of that much death and destruction can be peaceful, that is.

I won't offer any spoilers ... but the following things do strike me after watching the film:

1.)  9/11 raised the bar for scenes of city destruction.  I know that's a sad commentary on real life ... but that's the frame of reference we all now have.
2.)  I'm guessing this was unintentional, but casting Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor did have the effect of making me thing that Mark Zuckerberg was just one evil gene away from being a modern day criminal mastermind.
3.)  I've been a fan of the Bat since I was a young 'un after school watching the reruns of the sixties TV show (BOOM!  POW!  SPLAT!), but between this and the Arrow/Flash/Legends/Supergirl series, I'm slowly being forced to learn about the whole DC-verse.  To be clear ... I am up for that challenge ...
4.)  When's the Batmobile (and/or the other Batmachine [I promised -- no spoilers]) going to go on tour so I can add a picture of it (or me and it) to my collection (meet me on the Facebook to catch all of those)?
5.)  Did no one have to shave on this set (even Alfred's scruffy now)?  I've never seen so many super-five-o-clock-shadows!

Up next?  August 5th, 2016 - Suicide Squad!
