Random Soapbox for Saturday 2/27/16

I don't mean to go off on a rave here, but ...

[once a month ... for my health and well-being ... on Saturday, I have to rave instead of rant ... doctor's orders]

... even at my "advanced" age and thinking that I do pretty well with "knowin' things", I still LOVE the fact that my mind can still get blown on occasion (because I do believe that one never stops learning, if one keeps one's eyes wide open).

In addition to the image accompanying today's post, in the last few weeks, my mind has been blown thrice:

ONCE when I learned that the Mayflower that brought the Pilgrims actually *returned* to England after it dropped off its folks.

TWICE when I found out that Fergie (she of the Black Eyed Peas variety with a London Bridge that keeps on falling down) was Sally on the Charlie Brown specials when I was younger.

THRICE when I discovered that the couple in American Gothic were not married but were daddy and daughter.

As much as I'm enjoying a good mind-blow ... I do have to work to control this pace or else I'm not gonna have any left for the blowing.
