Seeing as how I had no internet at this spot on 93 during the five hour drive through Arizona, I had no choice *but* to look around and inspect the place where I had stopped for lunch (and pie) ... and the little baggies of water hanging off the porch poles caught my eye.
Turns out it's a thing (or maybe it's not, depending on Snopes and Mythbusters) that is all about chasing away the critters. How it works, no one could tell me ... but the staff swore up and down that it was, indeed successful.
Flying bugging creatures banished to who knows where by little baggies of water, you will NOT be missed.
