Back when I was little ... walking to school ... uphill both ways ... barefoot and pregnant ... (well, pregnant with *thought* anyway) ... we celebrated Lincoln's birthday on the 12th and Washington's birthday on the 22nd.
There was none of this one-day-for-all nonsense as a federal holiday on a Monday (a day I've never had off from work, by the way ... not having been a federal employee and all ...).
So in honor of today, the 12th ... the day to remember Lincoln, I went searching the interwebs to find a quote or two to use for today's post.
Which means I also discovered that said interwebs are apparently full of quotes attributed to him in error. Here's hoping that the two I did find are authentic ... and Happy Lincoln's Birthday to you and yours from me and mine!
