1.) Clearly this is a first world problem, but I did miss the HD today (having had to watch the game on live delay because errands were still being run when it started, and the HD buffer on the TV is only 15 minutes long, so I had to use the non-HD channel).
2.) Boy that announcerman had a thing for ZETTEL, so I decided I'd respect all of his glowing praise, and find an accompanying picture of *him* for today's post. (The bullet wounds are just gravy ... and aren't bullet wounds, but paintball wounds, according to the interwebs ... and the photo is two years old, btw.)
3.) The image I was going to use was of Zippy the kangaroo (Akron's mascot), but every time the camera cut to him during the telecast, he was barely moving (oddly enough, considering his name). Except one time where I could have sworn that he was doing the hulu.
4.) Speaking of being caught on camera doing something strange ... I'm pretty sure that one of Akron coach Bowden's hand signals was the Lady Gaga claw, inexplicably.
5.) Working headsets. How novel an idea! (No offense Dublin ... after all, I do so like your Guinness.)
6.) Classical music. *That's* the secret to football. Who knew?
7.) Admittedly, my football career ended after just one midget session many many moons ago, but I'm still so surprised to see that just spinning in a circle a few times before advancing is such an effective move.
8.) My boy FICKEN didn't have much of a day today, so I guess I have to reassign my customary "atta boy" to someone else ... like ... ATTA BOY JESSE JAMES (for outperforming with only one shoulder and all).
9.) I'm going to throw down a challenge to the announcerpeople ... can you go just once calling the game when Penn State is at Beaver Stadium *without* doing the obvious pun about people being happy or not happy in Happy Valley?
In closing, thanks ZWINAK for demonstrating that it will take more players than you can count on one hand to take you down ... and the countdown to our next post-season game that may or may not be as late as 2016 stands at no more than 34 more games (but may be a bit less) ...
