Rising Seas.
It looks like my days here in Florida are numbered ... especially since I never learned how to swim.
The local paper ran an expose on how the melting ice caps are causing the sea level to rise and they are predicting that it will be up as much as seven inches by 2030 and two feet by 2060 and possibly 6.6 feet by 2100 (assuming I make it to the ripe old age of 138).
And there may not be much that can be done since the geological make up is such that it will just flood up from underneath. I saw my first big rainstorm today (three hours of unrelenting giant raindrops), and already the yard and the nearby streets were flooded.
I can only imagine what will happen come hurricane season. Or worse. Somebody get Al Gore to fix this ... stat!
