What Chicago is talking about this week:
Well, for one thing. It's still pretty freakin' cold.
Which I know personally since I came back "home": for a super-fast 72 hour period, mostly to meet the movers, to return the keys to the landlord and to claim the kitty for the flight back to what I should now start calling "home" -- sunny southern Florida!
This does provide me with one last opportunity to put out there that this move was not about wussing out (what with the winter weather), but that it had been planned for awhile, almost executed in the fall of 2008 and now FINALLY happening. Or, by Tuesday night, will have FINALLY happened.
All that said, although I fully expect to visit this Chicago "home" many times in the future ... I'm also fully likely to manage those trips such that they are not during such record breaking weeks. To those left behind ... please stay safe and warm -- and come visit when you need to get rid of the chills!
