Random Scandal Sheet for Sunday 1/5/14

What Chicago is talking about this week:

It's most certainly NOT too much about the road to the Super Bowl (unless people are still complaining about last week, which some are, admittedly).  By the way, not that it matters (since I'm a fan of Penn State and they never get to go to the big game, even before the Sandusky Shower Shenanigans), but I'm hoping it ends up with the Colts (I do so love me some Indy) playing either the Saints (I'll be in New Orleans Super Bowl weekend) or the Niners (as previously disclosed, Colin K is my boy, although he may not know it).

Nope ... (almost) everyone here is talking about the arctic air that's blowing it's way through the area starting tonight and lasting until Wednesday.  A few public service announcements (10 of them), as heard today on the city's emergency news conference ...

1.  Wear a scarf.
2.  Drive patiently.
3.  Check in on old folks.
4.  Call 311 for just about anything related to this storm.
5.  Let the water trickle through your faucets to avoid pipes freezing, but don't everybody do it all at once, or else the fire company won't have the appropriate water pressure.
6.  Don't go out unless you have to, and if you are a CPS student or teacher, you have to (kind of).
7.  Don't throw the snow when you shovel out your car BACK into the road that the city graciously plowed for you.
8.  Don't say that this was like "that storm in '79", because the data proves that it was much worse then.
9.  Do know, that if you are of a certain age or moved here within a certain amount of time, this will be like nothing you've ever experienced.
10. Stay safe everyone ... take care of yourself and others!

See you post-hibernation (although, the internet is generally weather-proof, so I'll have to work when everyone else has snow/blizzard/frigid days ... but that means I can also still post each day ... so if you see me posting, that means I'm surviving)!

I WAS SO UNINFORMED, I HAD TO RESEARCH THE PATH TO THE SUPER BOWL:
