50 Things I'll Miss About Chicago -->
Thing 28:
Interacting with landlord Jim.
Little reinforces the notion that the move to Florida is just around the corner than filling out and delivering the last rent check to the landlord, as I did today (boy is there lots to do in just a few weeks)! Jim's not always been the fastest to effect change (after awhile, you just get used to bathrooms that constantly leak and bathroom ceilings that collapse every few months -- hey, what you can do ... it's an old building) ... .but he's the nicest kind of landlord in how laid back he is ... and how he lets all tenants have pets (including one pit bull and four cats he first signed off on). Jim -- you'll be missed!
COUNTER: In my life so far, most of my five landpeople have been nice and accommodating (the exceptions being #1 at Greentree [although we did kind of treat it like a frat house back then] and #4 [if only the angry Mexican brother hadn't bought out the other four, including the one who was our main contact initially]) ... so chances are landlord or landlady or landcompany #6 down south will be just fine. (I'm too much a nomad to ever think of owning ...)
