50 Things I'll Miss About Chicago -->
Thing 42:
Fighting with neighbors over "saved" street spots during the big snows.
[It's going by quickly ... the journey to becoming Floridians starts in exactly six weeks!]
I've been doubly lucky ... in that the first apartment building in Logan Square included a garage and a back alley entrance ... and in that, since moving to Wrigley for the second half of the dozen years spent in Chicago, any big snows have melted within a week ... so the opportunity to act like China does toward a South Sea island as it relates to a neighbor's shoveled spot when it comes to parking the car ... just didn't happen all that often. Still, it is classic Chitown when the serious weather hits, and I'll miss seeing all the lawn furniture out in the streets.
COUNTER: Hey, it snowed in southern Florida in 1977 (according to the interwebs) ... so maybe it will happen again! (Anyone know how to get a hold of the Snow and Heat Misers?)
