Today I learned that two members of the maternal side of my family tree both passed, and my thoughts go out to those in my family who were closest to them.
Personally, I can vaguely remember visiting my mother's mother's sister Dot in Birdsboro PA (pictured here with her daughter at a family get-together in 1993 -- not 1963 as you might suspect!), and I'm not sure that I've ever met my mother's sister's first husband (I was the last of my generation to come along, relatively speaking ...), but that doesn't mean that I can't feel for their loss. [It also does make me want to find time convert all of my family research to some place on the internet so that it can live on in pictures and stories and so on instead of just sitting in a file folder ...]
Most importantly, to those family members dealing with loss tonight, please know that your loved ones will not be forgotten. May they (both) rest in peace.
