I'm going to break my rule that I just set last night (the one where I said "maybe no more election stuff for a hot minute").
This past election cost 6 billion dollars. Were it 1999, that would be one dollar from every person who lives on this planet (according to the population clock, we're currently over 7 billion). I don't care what your party affiliation, I think we could make a list of 6 billion items on which that 6 billion might have been better spent.
To quote that famous Molly Shannon SNL "bad comic" character ... "and don't EVEN get me started" on the voter turnout rate. Those things MUST change before 2016 rolls around, for the sake of the future of our democracy!
OK -- now -- I promise. No more election stuff for a hot minute ... or five ... or six billion ...
