And one last friendly reminder that my 2012 birthday project continues (for at least two more months -- we'll see what 2013 brings). If you haven't heard, I'm donating $1 to a designated charity for every one of my FB connections that makes his or her big day public. November's charity is the Greater Chicago Food Depository (a nonprofit food distribution and training center providing food for hungry people while striving to end hunger in my local Chicago community). Last year around the holidays, I was able to donate an afternoon there for a project with work, and I was definitely impressed. (Plus, it helps me to deal with the little bit of guilt I have for having the amazing amounts of food we are always lucky enough to have on the family table during the holiday season.)
