100 Things I've Always Wanted To Say But Never Did And Now Maybe Should Since The World Might Be Ending -->
Thing 47:
File this under how you made my college experience "the bestest" ... but if the world does end in just shy of two fortnights and the Mayans were right, I have the direction of a whole decade of mine (I've only had four so far -- so it's the nineties about which I'm speaking) that I can attribute to one amazing person -- Renato B, the director of my first college theatrical experience back in the fall of '89. Being a late bloomer, he did more than just give me a chance when he cast me as a freshman as Billy Einhorn in the LVC Fall production of House of Blue Leaves (which, to prove I'm old, just recently had a Broadway revival), he helped me realize that I had a safe place where I could fit in in college (and grow up in the process) and he championed my participation in the program that would give me so much in the (many many) years I spent in undergrad. (And all he asked for was a few Sprites in return.)
