100 Things I've Always Wanted To Say But Never Did And Now Maybe Should Since The World Might Be Ending -->
Thing 45:
File this under long overdue thanks ... but hey Hebron United Methodist church folk, looking back on my life, there are quite a few story lines of mine that originate from that time frame. [Admittedly, the Mayan apocalypse in 45 days is not quite the same thing as a Kirk Cameron Left Behind movie, but I'll deal with that whole aspect on some other day.] Tonight -- it's about thanking people like Dan D when he was a pastoral intern and really took an interest in my development during my troubled times... and Mark B who was the cover illustrator for the Hebron Herald (a monthly church newsletter I used to create and publish) ... and my own sister Sherry G who was the "typist" for that production ... and Mrs. Shepps (sp?) who used to spirit me away from LHS on Friday's when the evil stepmother was at Green Dragon so I could trick my "keepers" and actually continue to publish it "under duress" ... and pastor John and wife Ruth who kept me for an evening on one of my early tries to run away ... and everyone who put together the great Summer and Winter Retreats I went on as a camper -- and then later as a counsellor ... and choir director Dan H who let me be "the narrator" for two big musical presentations that my surrogate grandmother JoAnne got to come to town to see before she passed ... and to all those with whom I played Hide-n-Seek-in-the-dark in the church during lock-ins ... and to Nancy W and Rena Mae M and Jill M for all the VBSs in which I participated ... and to the kids that I got to "teach" on Sunday nights that are now grown up, a few with kids of their own (hey Jenn and Deb L and Mandy F and Sandy J) ... All such great memories, for which, as the world (allegedly) ends, I am most thankful!
