Who's ready to get paddled?
Used in a sentence: "The best part of the season premier of the 21st time the Amazing Race is being broadcast was to see the various reactions when the ping pong challenge was announced under the heading of ... 'Who's ready to get paddled?'"
For the record -- it was seeing Jaymes' eyes twinkle that deserves the award for best response (Jaymes being the gay half of the Chippendales team). Classic. Priceless. And guaranteed -- he was not thinking ping pong.
Of course this also means that I'm ready to start up my Amazing Race Asides for the new season -- just a comment here or there that I'll throw in to my regular daily posts. And, for a construct, I'll continue with the "3 things I learned from this week's episode", although you can know that every week, when I watch, I know that the Emmys were won because of how this show portrays relationships AND that I miss Bonnie Hunt (who always used to have eliminated teams on her sorely missed daily talk show). So ...
1.) Thing ONE: I still don't know the gender of that world champion Chinese ping pong player -- but I did learn that he (or she) was damn good.
2.) Thing TWO: Fallopian tubes taste better when served in mangoes -- who knew?
3.) Thing THREE: Karma will get you. Let that be a warning to you, lying Sri Lankan twinners and couple that had the nerve to be helped by the double amputee team, whom you then passed with your four good legs to win the first part of the journey. Proof in point -- see how tall Beekman boy let the older couple go in front of him at the airport line, bumping them to the second flight? And see how random Shanghaiian (sp?) popped up out of the blue to direct him to the ABACUS -- that's karma working FOR you!?! (Oh yes -- and everyone say it together with me now ... ab-uh-kuhs, uh-bak-uhs)!
