Random Posting for Penn State 10/6/12

Here are nine Nittany nuggets from today's game!

1.)  Well that was a fun fourth quarter, and speaking of fun, did I hear the band playing their latest hit (Some Nights:  What Do I Stand For) during the game?
2.)  I don't know that I'm surprised, but NU looked awfully white (and I'm not talking about their uniforms).
3.)  I sure do like me some Mauti and McGloin (sounds like the name of a cop show, no?) ... but my new favorite player has to be Sammy Ficken.  If nothing else, at least he turns every moment he's put in to play into high stakes drama.
4.)  And speaking of Sammy Ficken, a 75 yard "field goal" as a punt today?  Now that's making an emphatic statement to your detractors.  Bully for you!
5.)  Ref down!  Ref down!  (Looking at the footage, it sure looks like whatever he did he did to himself.)
6.)  Announcermen:  can we please agree and be consistent with your wordplay?  Is it a muffed punt or a mucked punt?  Of course, if we could stop doing "it", then we would render my point moot, which is also fine by me.
7.)  Stankiewicz.  Tee-hee.  Every week, just seeing his name makes me smile.
8.)  Poor NU -- they will have to wait another year to see if they can do again what they last did in 1962.
9.)  Kudos to whomever scheduled the season and to whomever scheduled the Sandusky sentencing.  It may not have been planned, but it will be nice to have a bye week what with the attention Tuesday's activity will garner.

In closing, thank you newly married niece of mine Kylene for posting the photo of this poetic sign that you took whilst tailgating today ... and the countdown to our next post-season game in 2016 stands at 54 more games!

[Note:  In honor of the Sandusky scandal victims who came forward, remember that RAINN's National Sexual Assault Hotline is 1.800.656.HOPE(4673).]

SORRY GUYS -- 1962's RECORD 6 and 0 START STILL STANDS:

LOVE IT -- STICKIN WITH FICKEN SIGNS!:

I'M LIKIN' THIS SONG ... AND LIKIN' THAT THE BAND PLAYED IT DURING THE GAME:
