I don't mean to go off on a rant here, but ...
... where the heck did this summer go?
The calendar says September 1 -- and it seems like just yesterday it was Memorial Day weekend instead of Labor Day weekend.
And lest I appear on AC360's "keeping them honest" section ... let me take a moment to report on the charitable donations made on behalf of those of my friends who publicly post their birthdays on Facebook (I aggregate for the month, one dollar at a time -- and I offer the choice to move any dollar to another month's charity upon request).
So for the 38 of you with birthdays in June, a donation was made today to Vital Bridges, a local Chicago based organization that provides food, nutrition,
housing and case management for men, women and children living below the poverty
line with HIV/AIDS.
And for the 37 of you with birthdays in July, a donation was made today to Save the Children, an organization that has been protecting children from abuse, neglect,
exploitation and violence in all regions of the world.
And for the 46 of you with birthdays in August, a donation will be called in to the MDA telethon tomorrow night!
And to list out the designated charities for the rest of the year ...
SEP -- Autism Speaks
OCT -- Susan G Komen for the Cure
NOV -- Greater Chicago Food Depository
DEC -- Trevor Project
