When it comes to Penn State Football, today I am ...
... grateful that the Big 10 network aired the Blue and White game multiple times throughout the week, so I could finally DVR it and watch it a week after it was played.
... confused by the scoring construct of the game (after all, I was a late bloomer who wasn't overly athletically inclined), but if I could figure out Stableford scoring of golf, then I can certainly handle this.
... sad that there was no JoePa to be seen.
... pleased to see Redd and McGloin and Fera (even if they barely played at all).
... disappointed that one of Bolden's first plays was an interception (although, to be fair, it wasn't too much longer before McGloin also threw one).
... intrigued by Paul Jones and curious as to how quickly I will see him on the TV screen again in the QB position.
... concerned that folks might get hurt during this "practice" game.
... relieved that the red shirts on the QBs were designed to be a visual to make sure, above all else, that they didn't get hurt.
... surprised to see Urlacher interviewed on the sidelines.
... amused to hear Mr. Urlacher say that Beaver Stadium seats more fans than Soldier Field.
... apprehensive that bad commentators will make all kinds of subpar punny references to new guy 6'7" Jesse James.
... disgusted that some players chose to act out against the fact that team leadership changed by growing their hair longer than what JoePa would have allowed.
... delighted that JoePa has been posthumously awarded the Dick Enberg Award.
... excited for September 1 to arrive.
