Random Memorial for Monday 1/30/12

Gone but not forgotten: the other Darth Vader.

No not that one (David Prowse, the bodybuilder who portrayed him in most scenes, is still alive in England) ... or that one (Sebastian Shaw, who was the face of the unmasked Vader in Return of the Jedi, died over the holidays in 1994) ... or that one (Hayden Christensen, who was inserted in the re-released Return of the Jedi for continuity's sake, is just a young buck after all) ... or that one (James Earl Jones, the unmistakable voice of Vader is working actively in Hollywood) ... but THAT one ...

Bob Anderson, Olympic fencing coach and Vader stunt double for the light saber scenes who passed earlier this month ... you will be missed.

[And -- a side note: so will John Dye be missed ... although I didn't start missing him until last night when the SAG in memoriam segment was presented -- turns out he passed over a year ago!]
