Let's face it -- I could do a whole year of posts with great songs from PJam, celebrating their 20th anniversary in a big way (documentary movie! picture book! soundtrack! interpreting "Balls in your Mouth" on Jimmy Fallon -- a song about swimming in the Gulf and getting tar balls stuck in your craw, naturally!). But it's hard to choose a favorite (it's like kids, or pets, or loved ones, or whoopie pies -- the more the merrier, each unique in his/her/its own right).
So, with the rainy weather we've been having here in Chicago and the fact that it's been awhile since I've been back home, I'll pick this melancholy small town cautionary tale about keeping memories close and those you love even closer as the tune for tonight (especially as I was recently reminded of it by watching the commercials for the final season of Rescue Me):
